Episode 200: Why Success Still Feels Empty After Achievement | Harmony Slater

On the Live The Width of Your Life podcast, we explore what it means to not only live the length of our life but instead the breadth, depth, and purpose of each day.

She shares her personal story of creating balance in her life by aligning her daily choices to life values, strategies to redefine success, and creating space for a bit of magic and synchronicity.

It's never too late to change! We don't need to have it all figured out to begin; we can take action daily, show up imperfectly, and be amazed and inspired by how beautiful life can be.

Have you achieved success but still feel disconnected from yourself?

Many high achievers struggle with perfectionism, self-worth, emotional burnout, and the feeling that external achievement isn't creating the fulfillment they expected. If you've ever wondered why success still feels incomplete, this conversation will resonate deeply.

In this episode, I sit down with Harmony Slater to explore self-discovery, emotional healing, yoga philosophy, nervous system regulation, and what it means to build a life that feels aligned from the inside out.

In this conversation, we explore:

  • Harmony's journey from ballet dancer to yoga teacher and spiritual guide

  • How perfectionism and achievement can disconnect us from ourselves

  • The role of discipline in healing and personal transformation

  • Why emotional work is essential for lasting growth

  • What yoga teaches us about self-awareness and embodiment

  • The importance of nervous system regulation and inner safety

  • How cultural immersion deepened Harmony's understanding of yoga

  • Balancing external success with internal alignment

  • Understanding the ego's role in achievement and self-protection

  • Practical ways to cultivate greater presence and connection

This Episode Is For You If...

  • You are successful on the outside but feel disconnected on the inside

  • You struggle with perfectionism or constantly feeling like you need to do more

  • You are navigating an identity shift or life transition

  • You want to deepen your self-awareness and emotional resilience

  • You're interested in yoga, spirituality, and personal growth

  • You are learning how to trust yourself and live more authentically

  • You want to create success that feels aligned rather than exhausting

One of the things that stayed with me after this conversation is the reminder that growth isn't always about becoming someone new. Sometimes it's about remembering who we've been underneath the expectations, achievements, and identities we've accumulated along the way.

The seer within us has always been there.

When we create space to slow down, listen, and reconnect, we often discover that the wisdom we've been searching for has been quietly waiting inside us all along.
