She shares her personal story of creating balance in her life by aligning her daily choices to life values, strategies to redefine success, and creating space for a bit of magic and synchronicity.

It's never too late to change! We don't need to have it all figured out to begin; we can take action daily, show up imperfectly, and be amazed and inspired by how beautiful life can be.

Do you struggle with meditation? Join me for this week’s episode with Jake Eagle, a psychotherapist, and the co-author of 'The Power of Awe' alongside Dr. Michael Amster, who speaks about the AWE method of mindfulness – a quick, 15-second way to reach a state of transcendence. This method is built around having an 'Attention' towards something of value, 'Waiting' for a while, and 'Exhaling and Expanding.'

Unlike meditation which only facilitates a state of rest and relaxation, the AWE method, described by Dr. Steven Porges as 'the future of mindfulness,' stimulates a playful, pro-social condition in people. Jake details how achieving a state of AWE also builds a path towards spacious consciousness, a sense of profound presence. The method's effectiveness has been proven through various studies including those with frontline healthcare workers and long COVID patients.

He shares insights on how using this technique can combat stress, anxiety, and discomfort, and elevate general well-being, making it an invaluable tool for corporate wellness programs, therapists working in marginalized communities, and wellness sessions in general.

Highlights from this episode:

  • Ways to practice the method of AWE in just a few seconds.

  • Accessing the emotion of awe in just a few seconds can have profound effects on our well-being.

  • How the AWE method involves placing attention on something valuable or amazing, waiting, and then exhaling and expanding.
