A little bit about Melissa:
Melissa Romo is the author of two books, the historical novel Blue-Eyed Son (Red Ship Books, 2015) and the forthcoming non-fiction business title Your Resource Is Human: How empathetic leadership can help remote teams rise above (Practical Inspiration, 2023).
Melissa has spent her career in marketing and advertising, working for multinational companies and brands around the world, including jobs in Warsaw, Paris, London and New York. She earned a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management, where she studied organizational behavior and leadership. In her most recent role as VP of Marketing for a leading cloud software firm, she manages a globally dispersed team, and has managed remote employees for more than a decade. Her historical novel, Blue-Eyed Son, was inspired by her time working in Warsaw. It is a WWII-era story about displacement and the loss of national identity during times of war. She has been a contributing writer on lifestyle, travel and expatriatism for publications in the U.S., U.K. and Poland.
She and her Spanish-born husband live in Hoboken, New Jersey with their two teenage sons and an adopted Labrador.
