Episode 145: Touch of Faith: When Desperation Meets Divine Healing (Chapter 4 Preview of Lanters of Light with Adriana Bisorca)

On the Live The Width of Your Life podcast, we explore what it means to not only live the length of our life but instead the breadth, depth, and purpose of each day.

She shares her personal story of creating balance in her life by aligning her daily choices to life values, strategies to redefine success, and creating space for a bit of magic and synchronicity.

It's never too late to change! We don't need to have it all figured out to begin; we can take action daily, show up imperfectly, and be amazed and inspired by how beautiful life can be.

Have you ever reached that place where you've tried everything—every strategy, every solution, every plan—and you're left with nothing but faith? This episode is for that sacred, vulnerable moment.

In this deeply personal episode, I'm joined by my dear friend Adriana, as we dive into Chapter 4 of my upcoming book, Lanterns of Light. This is the very first preview of chapters from the book, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you. This chapter—Touch of Faith: When Desperation Meets Divine Healing—was inspired by a vivid dream I had in the early morning hours and centers on the story of the bleeding woman in Luke 8:48.

This chapter, and this conversation, are about what happens when we've tried everything—when we've exhausted our strength, our resources, our plans—and we finally surrender in faith. It's about trusting God even when we can't see the way, and the miracles that can unfold when we simply believe that a single touch of the Divine can change everything.

Adriana was one of the first people I shared this chapter with because I felt she would receive it with the same tenderness and reverence with which it was given to me. Together, we reflect on faith, surrender, healing, and the unseen power of presence and prayer. We also talk about what it means to embody our faith—not just think about it, but feel it, practice it, and live it in our everyday lives.

In This Episode, We Explore:

  • The dream that led me to write this chapter

  • The power of the story of the woman with the issue of blood

  • What it means to trust in faith when all else fails

  • Why so many of us struggle to surrender control and lean on God

  • Embodiment practices and journaling prompts that bring scripture to life

  • Adriana's beautiful reflection on connecting with Jesus as a child and the healing that can come when we finally allow ourselves to feel

This episode is both a preview of the book and an invitation into a deeper, more intimate relationship with your own faith, whatever that looks like for you. My hope is that by sharing these stories and spiritual reflections, you'll feel seen, supported, and inspired to come home to yourself and God.

Resources and Mentions:

  • Scripture Reference: Luke 8:48 – "Then he said, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'"

  • Details on the book: Lanterns of Light (Coming Soon!)

Ways to Go Deeper:

At the end of every chapter in the book, I include reflection prompts and embodiment exercises to help you internalize the lessons. Whether through journaling, meditative practice, or physically connecting with a symbolic gesture (like touching the hem of your robe), I invite you to experience faith as something living and breathing inside of you.
